Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche founded Nitartha Institute in 1996, under the guidance of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche. At Nitartha Institute - faculty, translators, and students from around the world closely study core texts and commentaries of Tibetan masters. Curricula spans Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced Buddhist studies; as well as courses in the Arts, Healing, and Tibetan language.

Nitartha Institute courses are modeled on the Tibetan shedra (monastic college) and gomdra (meditation retreat) systems. Students combine the study of key texts and commentaries with thorough training in debate, practice, and analytical meditation.
