Wildlife broadcaster Simon King discovers the New Forest National Park's woodlands, heaths and coast and the animals who call it home including sand lizards, deer and the iconic New Forest ponies. These films have been produced for the New Forest National Park's 10 year anniversary by Simon King Wildlife TV, with thanks to Natural World UK.
Few people realise the important role that the New Forest played in both World Wars. Thousands of wounded troops were treated in the Forest during World War I, and its strategic location on the south coast meant it was crucial in a range of operations during World War II. The New Forest Remembers Project intends to address the lack of survey work, knowledge and understanding about the New Forest's role in both World Wars and aims to bring the war years alive for a wide range of people.
