NOVA is implementing six college-wide policy changes for Fall 2014 to help students start strong at NOVA. Starting in the fall of 2014, if you are between the ages of 17 and 24, and if you are a first-time-to-college student or if you are in the Pathway to Baccalaureate program, you are required to follow all six policies. This video outlines all six policies.
Ignite NOVA, an initiative by the Achieving the Dream Core Team, strives to model a new format for the 21st century classroom – a collaborative space where students must tap into higher order thinking skills to present core content in a compelling manner. When Ignite was created in 2006, the primary goal was to bring together thinkers and innovators from all industries to share their passion and inspire their peers to work for change in their communities. Ignite NOVA focuses this same lens on the goal of student success – the talks model the importance of cross-discipline collaboration, and highlight the shared responsibility of all members of the college community in supporting student learning outcomes and eliminating all achievement gaps.
