Formed in 1986, WEC is an alliance of 70 community, environmental, and labor organizations, in addition to many individual members, working together for safe, secure jobs and a healthy, sustainable environment. WEC links workers, communities, and environmentalists through training, technical assistance, grassroots organizing, and public policy campaigns to promote dialogue, collaboration, and joint action. WEC has a diverse board of directors composed of environmental, community, and labor leaders and has been cited as the nation’s most effective state labor/environmental (or blue/green) coalition.
