National Capital Area Skeptics (NCAS)

The National Capital Area Skeptics (NCAS) is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to science, critical thinking, and scientific literacy. Founded in 1987 in the Washington, D.C. area, we bring you lectures and conversations with leading scientists, historians, archaeologists, and researchers on topics ranging from ancient history and archaeology to media literacy, misinformation, conspiracy theories, and the paranormal.

Our videos feature experts in science, history, and skeptical inquiry — including talks on ancient civilizations, UFOs and UAP, pseudoscience, climate science, public health, and the history of science. We believe that understanding how to evaluate evidence is as important as knowing what the evidence says.
