Ruchira Panda - Official Channel

This is the official channel of Ruchira Panda, a North Indian Classical  ( Hindustani Classical ) singer-songwriter. She is the reigning vocalist of the Kotali Gharana of Bengal - one of the myriad minor gharanas that has miraculously survived  the onslaught of time.  Descending from the 17th-century Dhrupadiyas from Kotalipara, Bangladesh, this lineage has produced the first pan-Indian Bengali  Khayalia - Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty.  the ubiquitous 48-beat ati-vilambit khayal, the long-form Thumri and Ragpradhan.

Ruchira's trademark voice - quite unlike anything else in vogue - has taken her across the globe. Her studio and live recordings are available on Spotify etc.

She is a prolific composer, just like her Guru of 25 years, the late Pandit Manas Chakraborty. Her repertoire includes Khayal, TapKhayal, Tappa, Tarana, Chaturang, and semi-classical forms e.g. Thumri, Dadra, Chaiti, Bhajan , Patjhar, Jhoola, Pasar ke Geet, Jaad ke Geet.
