========================== NOTES: One of the great songs from the later part of the original Guns n' Roses line-up. This track is from the album Use Your Illusion This is what the band was capable of at their peak. A ballad that roars with an intensity burns throughout. Based on a very typical A minor chord progression, the band pulls out a full palate of riffs, licks, hooks, and heart tugging lyrics that resonate with just about everyone. I mean, who can't relate to someone saying, "Don't cry". I recorded this song with an old inexpensive Epiphone Les Paul but I swear that guitar has the soul of a real LP. There was no way I could use a strat or any other model for that matter. If you are playing GnR, use a Gibson! This is my first Guns 'n Roses cover and I'm now wondering why I waited so long. I am now more of a fan of Slash then I've ever been. He knows exactly what to play and when to play it. A collection of cover tunes. Each is intended as educational only. The purpose is not to copy someone else's work, but in fact to spread the word about these great pieces of music. I don't play them note for note as it is not my style to do so.
This is my playlist for my Pink Floyd covers. I've become fascinated (again) with their music and have taken a much deeper listen to their work. I do covers always a bit "loose" giving them a slight twist. Blame my refusal to play note for note copies of other's work. I hope you enjoy what I have so far. Of course, more are on the way:)
A collection of original, improvised acoustic guitar instrumentals. Each with a different mood, these vignettes will offer you relaxation and thought provoking moments. Each has been created out of the emotional ups and downs of everyday life. I hope you enjoy them. Mark
A collection of original music, improvised, composed, or maybe even a combination of both. Much of it acoustic, the following songs are my way of expressing what only instrumental music can...emotions without words.
A collection of improvisations in a Smooth Jazz or Funk style. My favorite mode of musical expression is improvisation. It's a way to check on your internal musical vocabulary. I hope you like my approach to creating melodic lines in this style.
This series of short but detailed lessons will concentrate on the ways in which your guitar playing can become more interesting and creative. String bending, tremolo bar use, tapping, sliding, and hammer and pull-off techniques will be demonstrated and discussed.
