National Route 65 of the National Cycle Network, also recognised as part of the Trans Pennine trial cycle path connecting together both Hull and Hornsea. Originally constructed as railway line in 1864 to improve economical and social activities between the two cities. Within the initial time span the newly constructed railway helped to constitute in assisting many businesses to flourish within the tourism industry, this as a result consequently led to more people moving from the city to live by the coast. According to Dr. Stuart Walker of Hornsea Museum, the population of this seaside town had doubled in size within 10 years. "The population gradually grew from roughly 2,000 in 1874 to about 10,000 when the railway was closed in 1964." Lasting approximately 100 years since it's closure has since been later reused as a cycling and walking path that is featured within this video.
Personal Thoughts:
The journey itself was approximately 15 miles in each direction although personally it did seem as far. Thankfully the weather was sunny that day which resulted in a nice relaxing journey. All of the other riders I encountered were also very nice and friendly, some even offered beverages at certain resting points ha. Although being the precocious person that I am my own food and water was plentiful as I came prepared beforehand. As I progressed on my journey the only issue I encountered was with very small and largely grouped insect creatures that annoyingly kept hitting my face constantly through what appeared to be a relentless assault. Thankfully the camera that I had used was incapable at the time of recording these events, this was due to standard definition (SD) being selected in order to preserve both memory and battery power. Overall I found this trip to be very therapeutic and enjoyable, I look forward to my next cycle journey as I hope you the viewers do to.
Thank you for watching.
Other information:
This video features the entire journey including that of an intermission between each cycling session. Initially the trip from Hull to Hornsea is unedited...meaning nothing was neither trimmed or altered from the outputted files of the camera itself. The second part of the journey however is altered servilely in-order to shorten the videos length and thus repeat the process.
