Annalise Padgett, who graduated from MCC-Longview in May 2016, is now heading off to Chicago to complete her undergraduate degree in communications at Loyola University.
At MCC she earned an associate of arts in communications with a focus on advocacy and social policy. Padgett, a peer mentor at MCC, says her goal is to work as a liaison between nonprofit organizations and communities in need of support.
“I believe that access is available, but there are not enough ‘connectors’ to these tools and they are needed in order for communities to thrive,” Padgett says. “I desire to be a connector and to network on behalf of others’ needs and to see a difference come within that sphere.”
The 26-year-old moved to the Kansas City area from North Carolina when she was 20 and planned to go to school for music. However, life happened and she decided on a different course. She now praises the quality education she received at MCC.
