A LoloYodel 2 cam remix with a synched SOUNDBOARD audio !
With my habitual gratitude and thanks for all whose who previously filmed, produced and shared the originals.
VIDEOS (both left of stage) : 1- 1st gen "Lazy Cow" capture (edited by Peanut Productions) JVC Single Tube Camera ~ Panasonic AG-7400 ~ S-VHS Master ... 2- "StickyFingers", a more colorful, but lower resolution, Soni Hi8 capture. I (LoloYodel) made essentially "rotation" corrections and decreased the saturation/contrast to try and avoid big color differentiations with Video One. (Contrast +10%, Saturation -100%, Black -10%)
AUDIO "sbd.healy.wise.flac1648" : DAT soundboard master recorded by Dan Healy ... digital by Jim Wise (October 2014) PS : has some oversaturation in the vocals Also (Lolo), some very minor Audience patches here and there
LoloYodel Notes :
This show (with guest Bruce Hornsby on piano) was the 5th of the Spring east-coast Tour and The Grateful Dead's LAST outing in this heralded Hampton Coliseum.
1st Set : 0:18 Jerry's discreet hand sign and 0:38 says "don't be cheap" ... then a Bruuuuce inspired "noodling" 20:51 Bob's "case of the Michelangelo Virus here" ...
2nd set : sweet "New Speedway Boogie" "Corinna" with Bobby screwing up lyrics 24:17 ... funny fun "Must Be Last Time" "Wharf Rat" : even on an "off" night, still great ! rockin' Bobby "Magnolia" with the crowd play and an always sweet "The Weight"
(Possibly my last) LoloYodel two-video angle remix (see credits below).
7 months after the truly spectacular and sonically unique East-Coast Spring 1990 Tour (Landover, Albany, Nassau ...), but just 3 months after the tragic death of the beloved keyboardist Brent Mydland (July 26th), The Grateful Dead embarked on what became their very strong European Tour, their 1st in 9 years (1981) which started in Sweden on October 13th (jet lag and all ...), then Germany where it begins to pick up, then France ... and here we are ! The Tour ended on November 1st at Wembley, London UK.
Vince Welnick and Bruce Hornsby are there to replace Mydland on keyboards ...
All of these European shows, beyond their European flavour, were unique in that they were in relatively small 4000-5000 seat venues, including the Zenith, (versus the average 40000+ seat coliseums, if not stadiums, that the Dead were beginning to play in the USA). And I'm sure that the Grateful Dead could was not oblivious to that "intimacy".
Paris 27th October 1990, the 1st of two nights. Comments :
"I have heard bad comments about this tour, but this show just plain owns!" - jason "I was at both of these shows. The most memorable part was the frog noises during space. It just cracked me the hell up. Lots of rain in paris." - owen "I have this show and it was on of the better ones of that tour. China/Rider is one of the best. Not THE best but no far off, same for Circumstance." - mr.charlie "Masterpiece, pretty solid version, Rob from radioiodead played today." - Perrinswolf "Last Saint" - 6/18/89

Lolo Notes : To both videos above : with immense gratitude and thanks ! These "amateur" videos (mixed together) should give much greater viewer pleasure.
