"What good is sitting alone in your room?" What good, indeed? "Life is a cabaret!" These older adults and teaching artists who have been part of visual, performing and literary arts workshops in public libraries talk about how attending creative aging workshops make you feel "visible," "like a kid again," and like you have a "haven away from home."
Each 8-10 week Lifetime Arts creative aging workshop end with a culminating event -- a performance, a reading, an exhibit -- where the participants may share their work with the community at large (and with their loved ones). This video demonstrates how these celebrations, whether formal or informal, tie the arts education piece to the library and tie the participants to each other and to the teaching artists and librarians.
