Leblaique

We are Lebanese citizens seeking to
live in dignity, exercise our rights and duties equally with any other
citizen.
Empowered by rights, public and private liberties granted to us by the
Lebanese Constitution,
we demand:
- the non intervention of religion in the state affairs just as the
non intervention of the state in citizens' freedom of worship;
- the independence of people's representatives from any allegiance to
the confessional leaders;
- laws respecting human rights and absolute equality between women and men;
- a Lebanese civil code for personal status;
- the reinforcement of public education at the service of citizenship;
- the adoption of a unified history book;
- securing equal opportunities in employment in the public sector
based on qualifications rather than religion, race or gender;
- an independent judiciary power that protects the citizens' rights
and prevents him from resorting to his "tribal" community;
- the adoption of a modern and democratic electoral law which
implements and guarantees the secularism of the State.

On April 17, 2011, we will reinforce and continue the march together
for a "Secular Lebanon".

Until that day, and every other day, each citizen is encouraged to
participate within his field, whether you are a writer, a journalist,
a teacher, a house wife, a designer, a musician, a cab driver, a
politician, a lawyer... EVERYONE can put his hands in this cause to
develop social consciousness.

During the march, the only flag raised will be the Lebanese flag.

THIS IS A CITIZEN MOVEMENT THAT UTTERLY REFUSES TO BE HIJACKED BY POLITICS.
