Ever wondered what clothes to wear on Camera? In this video you will discover the rules
In this video you're going to learn what to wear in your videos and here's a quick tip. It's not this.
Hey, It's Justin here, and I've been asked by a lot of people what to wear in your videos. The answer is very simple. You want to wear solid colors that contrast with your background. What's wrong with this picture? Well, I've actually got a dark jacket with a dark background. You'll notice when I take it off, I've got a shirt with squares on it, a patterned shirt. A patterned shirt is also bad because when you move around, especially when you're watching it on a phone or a small screen, these things kind of just make a really, really weird pattern. Take off one more layer, you will see what I'm meant to wear. I've got a white T-shirt, which will work quite well with a dark background. Hopefully you'll be able to see a bit more of my shape, a big more of my outline, and you'll be able to see how it works.
I don't have any more clothes underneath this, so that's probably where the video ends, but I'll show you the same thing on a light background. Now we have the opposite situation where I'm wearing very light colored clothing in front of a very light colored background. We've already discussed before that it's not good to wear stripes or patterns or anything like that, so putting a stripey shirt on is not going to help my situation, but what will help is, do you remember that dark jacket from before? Well, if I put that on it should give me a little bit of shape and a little bit more definition when it comes to the background. I don't blend in to the background. I kind of draw a bit more attention to myself, and if I flip the collar around I'll hopefully look a little bit smarter too.
There you have it. That's what you're meant to where when it comes to making videos. Simple clothing, simple colors, solid colors, and make sure it contrasts with the background especially if you've got to shoot with a blue screen. Never wear blue, because if you do you kind of get these floating hands. Anyway, that's all for this video. I'll see you in the next one.
