Jim Richter | Blues, Rock & All Things Mandolin

Blues. Rock. Bluegrass. Roots. Eight strings.

Welcome to Jim Richter | Blues, Rock & All Things Mandolin. I’m a mandolinist, instructor, performer, arranger, and longtime mandolin provocateur, exploring one basic question: What else can the mandolin do?

MANDOLIN BLUES: Johnny Young, Yank Rachell, Papa Charlie McCoy, Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson, Freddie King and more—lessons, transcriptions, phrasing, improvisation and blues vocabulary.

ROCK MANDOLIN: Mandolin-centric arrangements of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and other classic rock.

BLUEGRASS & OLD-TIME: Bill Monroe, fiddle tunes, traditional repertoire, lessons and performances.

ALL THINGS MANDOLIN: Original music, ragtime, jazz, vintage Gibsons, Monteleone and other great instruments.
