Great day in the studio tracking guitars for "All Your Days" by Alone Architect Feat. Dani Poppitt, with Dominic Cifarelli of The Chronicles of Israfel on guitar.
The song calls for some nice fat clean guitar tones, with a Spaghetti Western / Quentin Tarantino vibe.
We used 2 Godin electric guitars. The "Fifth Avenue" featured in this video. The "Montreal" for slide guitar parts. As well as 6 string and 12-string Simon & Patrick acoustic guitars. All to be featured in later videos. Stay Tuned.
We used one of my all time favorite amplifiers. A Peavey Classic 50, 4 X 10 combo amp. I love it's clean tones, and it's so versatile in the studio.
We kept it simple for microphone selection. A Shure SM57, Sennheiser MD 421 dynamics mics, and I through in my trusty SE Electronics Z5600 tube microphone for variety.
In a future video I'll demonstrate how and why I split the guitar signal for a direct guitar track and how I recorded all 3 mics to separate tracks in Cubase.
