Research shows that healthy kids perform better on tests, get better grades, attend school more often and behave better in class.
That’s why we created our Healthy Schools Program in 2006. Since that time, we have worked with nearly 35,000 schools across the country to build healthier environments for kids.
Now it’s time to honor those schools in our program that are setting a best-in-class example of the nationwide movement to create a culture of health. All National Healthy Schools Award-winners have met stringent guidelines for serving healthier meals and snacks, getting students moving more, offering physical and health education and empowering school leaders to become healthy role models.
These are America’s Healthiest Schools.
Whether you are a parent, teacher, administrator, community member or even a student, you can make a difference in helping kids to develop lifelong healthy habits.
