The Rolling Stones "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" released on their album Sticky Fingers April 23, 1971 on Rolling Stones Records. The album peaked at #1 both in the UK and US and remained there for several weeks. The photos ~'69-'73 in the video represent the time post-Brian Jones and pre-Ron Wood. The Rolling Stone magazine cover w/ Mick & Keith is 1975 and Ronnie joined by then. Mick Taylor's work was on Let It Bleed '69, Sticky Fingers '71, Exile On Main Street '72, Goat's Head Soup '73, and It's Only Rock 'n Roll '74. To quote Wikipedia about Sticky Fingers:
It is Mick Taylor's first full-length appearance on a Rolling Stones album, the first Rolling Stones album not to feature any contributions from guitarist and founder Brian Jones and the first one on which Mick Jagger is credited with playing guitar.
The album is often regarded as one of the Stones' best, containing songs such as the chart-topping "Brown Sugar" and the folk-influenced "Wild Horses", along with the 2 part, Latin-inspired, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" and achieving triple platinum certification in the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Mick Taylor's guitar solo was done in one take. To quote:
Can't You Hear Me Knocking... is one of my favorites... (The jam at the end) just happened by accident; that was never planned. Towards the end of the song I just felt like carrying on playing. Everybody was putting their instruments down, but the tape was still rolling and it sounded good, so everybody quickly picked up their instruments again and carried on playing. It just happened, and it was a one-take thing. A lot of people seem to really like that part.
