I originally created the Good Leg Project to help myself solve my life long problem. When I was eight-years-old I was struck by a semi-truck while riding my bicycle. The accident left me with a forever mangled right leg. A unique and complicated condition to which there were no satisfactory solutions. I lived with this state of affairs for most of my life: A grotesque barely functional limb which requires a full leg brace to walk.
After decades of dissatisfaction, I came to a point where I decided that I would try and solve this problem myself. Where no solutions existed I would attempt to create them. The results came quickly. After walking this path for only six months, I made more life progress than I had in the previous 20+ years. I was participating in activities I never thought I would, I knew more about my condition than I ever had, and I was building a team of experts to help with the heavy lifting. Creating this site was a part of that journey. A place to share my proposed solutions with the rest of the world with the goal of inspiring others to participate in the solution.
Throughout this time something unexpected happened. I begin to receive messages from individuals from around the world stating that seeing me tackle my problem gave them guidance to tackle their own unique and difficult problems.
This created a second purpose of this site: To share my lessons learned throughout this process to help other individuals solve their own hard problems. So please have a look around, I hope my journey will help you start your own.
