This is a re-make of the original song we did with Anthony Burger, Gary Dillard, Tracy and Tony in Asheville.
I dedicate this song to the late Nella Arnold and Anna Lewis.
This style of music is near and dear to my heart as I grew up in the South. Just hearing the twang of a steel guitar brings back memories of my childhood. I can remember riding in my dad's truck as he listened to country music. At the time, I hated it and wanted to distance myself from anything regarding the style.
Today, I see it as a more 'folk' music style; one that was created by those who lived in the deep South. As for my modern take on it all, I relish the style but am wary of the religious overtones. Lets just say, I enjoyed arranging this one and sharing it with the world. Music transcends any religion and simply speaks to the soul.
