Saving the Blue Planet, One Orca at a Time

This YouTube Playlist aims to draw attention to the presence of Bigg's Orcas, aka Transient Orcas, in the hope that the more people appreciated their presence, the more likely they are to be protected and preserved, thereby helping to ensure their survival as a species. Currently, they're listed as Threatened under Canada's Species at Risk Act, aka (SARA).

As a Citizen Scientist, I upload sightings of cetaceans to the Whale Report Alert System app (WRAS), by which all large commercial vessels within ten nautical miles are notified of my Encounters, so that appropriate action can be taken to avoid ship strikes, by either slowing down or changing course.

I also upload images of Orca to the Finwave.io database, which uses AI to identify individual animals.
