Garage48 Hardware & Arts took place on 7-9 February 2014 and was organised by Garage48, University of Tartu and Estonian Academy of Arts. The first Garage48 weekend dedicated to making physical gadgets only draw a record number of participants and 19 teams presented awesome prototypes on Sunday evening. Garage48 in Kampala was our third hackathon in Africa to turn ideas into working prototype. 11 teams of developers, designers, marketers and entrepreneurs working hard over the weekend to launch their products (prototypes) for Sunday evening. Below you will find the winners and all other projects launched, plus people within those teams. Thanks to Google, Nokia, MTN Uganda and all participants - this was truly amazing weekend!
25 ideas were pitched at Strathmore University on Friday 30th September, where Garage48 Nairobi was kicked off this year. Many of the ideas were really well thought through and 10 of them got the needed team behind to be able to start development. Live demos of the prototypes were presented on Sunday evening, 2nd of October to the jury and audience.
Garage48 Tallinn was an event to turn your idea into working product or prototype.
