On April 7, 2011, the Galen Institute hosted a forum where Galen visiting fellow Jason Fodeman, MD, presented his new paper on the impact on patients of the new health law: "Bad for Doctors, Awful for Patients." Rep. Tom Price gave the opening remarks. Also giving remarks and participating in the panel discussion were Hal Scherz, MD, and Richard Armstrong, MD, of Docs4PatientCare.
Galen Institute co-hosted a briefing on Capitol Hill on October 7, 2010 about "Medicaid and ObamaCare: The impact of the overhaul law on the states," with the Institute for Policy Innovation. Our speakers -- John R. Graham, Christie Herrera, and Marc Kilmer -- discussed unfunded liabilities, demand for physicians, and difficulty accessing care.
