"La Lucha: The Story of Lucha Castro and Human Rights in Mexico", published by Verso Books, is the first in a series of nonfiction graphic novels from Front Line Defenders documenting the stories of human rights defenders at risk around the world.
La Lucha recounts the stories of Lucha Castro, some of her colleagues at her organization – Centro de Derechos Humanos de las Mujeres – in Chihuahua, and of other WHRDs who sacrificed their lives in the defense of women’s and human rights in their communities in Chihuahua and Juarez – consistently two of the most dangerous cities in the world for more than a decade.
Multiple Exposure is a monthly video magazine broadcast focusing on human rights defenders at risk and the context of their work. Segments in the series will offer a behind-the-scenes peek at the difficulty of carrying out human rights work in different countries; more information about trends and political developments that directly impact human rights; and profiles of individual human rights defenders at risk.
Along with the video reports the webpages for each video will offer additional links and information, so that viewers can probe even deeper into the issues and learn more about the human rights defenders.
If you have a comment about the series, suggestions for story ideas or wish to send a message to a human rights defender you see in any of the video productions, please contact email@example.com.
