I took a 0.040" (1.016 mm) copper sheet and whacked on it a couple of hundred thousand times and this is what I got. The techniques used are repousse and chasing. All freehand coppersmithing, no molds or forms used. This wasn't made to be a how to video but it does show all the basics. My favorite part is an optical illusion at 6:55 if you look at it just right, concave becomes convex. You'll know you got it when the inside starts spinning the opposite direction of the outside.
