Foothills Conservancy is a nationally accredited, regional land trust that has worked with landowners and both public and private conservation partners to preserve more than 46,000 acres of land in the eastern Blue Ridge Mountains and foothills. This includes watersheds, environmentally significant habitats, forests and farmland. The Foothills Conservancy, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, serves eight counties: Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell and Rutherford. That includes the headwaters of the Catawba, Broad and Yadkin Rivers. The conservancy is supported primarily by private, tax-deductible contributions from people who love the Blue Ridge Mountains and Foothills.
