*Please hit share! Thankyou!* From taking direct control of the helm, to transferring command of any ship in your task force, or even calling your senior staff to the briefing room to discuss mission tactics; Excalibur aims to be the most immersive Star Trek gaming experience ever. We've already come so far, but if we ever wish to achieve the level of detail and artistry we envision for Excalibur, we'll need more help.
We are looking to greatly expand the team in 2015. We are mainly looking for Programmers & Artists, however we have a wide range of positions on our forums. If you or anyone you might know may be able to contribute, please get in touch (Contact information at the bottom).
Q: How much time would you expect me to contribute to the game?
A: As much or as little as you can afford. Development needs to be enjoyable so we don't issue strict deadlines. As long as we keep in good communication there shouldn't be any problems. For instance if something comes up, let us know and we can work around it. We hope that you'll be reasonably confident you can contribute up until mid 2016 on a regular basis.
Q: How is the team structure organized?
A: We have 'department heads' These members will work with you to ensure you're up to speed with the project, tools, and tasks. They'll delegate tasks to each member. There is lee-way in what tasks you take on, as before, it's important that you stay motivated and enjoy the work you're doing.
We have an open dev-area policy. Once contributors are brought onto the team, you'll be given access to all areas of development. You'll be able to see what other team members are working on and engage with each member. We often discuss features and issues as a team, and so each team members opinion and insights are equally as important in these instances.
Q: What's in it for me?
A: The thrill of being part of a Global team, coming together to create something amazing! Also having your say in how the game should function, what mechanics we should include etc...
Q: I love Star Trek and Excalibur sounds really interesting, I want to help but I don't see a position for my skill.
A: Even if we've not advertised for a particular skill, we would still love to know you're interested in becoming involved, that way we can get it touch if & when you might be required. E-mailing us would be the best option.
Q: Is this a paid position?
A: No. No money is made from Excalibur. The game will be available to download for free when finished.
Q: What is a Probationary Task?
A: Some positions need you to complete a task so we can better understand where your skill level lies/ what tasks you would be most suitable for.
Q: I've checked the recruitment section and see a position I could fill, what do I do?
A: Reply in the thread or E-mail us. If the position comes with a probationary task, we will send you though the necessary materials.
Q: I'm great at a particular skill, but have no qualifications or industry experience/ training.
A: In most cases this shouldn't be a problem. Alot of our team are enthusiasts in their field.
Q: Sign me up!
A: You should definitely check out our recruitment section here, which contains more information about the specific roles we need: http://www.stexcalibur.com/...
Alternately, please get in touch via: firstname.lastname@example.org
