ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst spent six months on the International Space Station for ESA’s Blue Dot mission in 2014. He returns to the ISS for the Horizons mission between June and December 2018, fulfilling the role of Commander for Expedition 57. Alexander is a geophysicist and a volcanologist.
