ELEXONUK

ELEXON administers the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) and provide and procure the services needed to implement it.

We compare how much electricity generators and suppliers say they will produce or consume with actual volumes. We then work out the price for the difference and transfer funds which involves taking 1.25 million meter readings every day and handling over £1.5 billion of our customers’ funds each year.

We upload our videos to YouTube to enable people to understand more about what we do, obtain training and guidance about the BSC and operational procedures, and see our latest interviews and discussion pieces about our role in the electricity industry.
