"If we didn't hear real examples, we probably wouldn't have believed it; it's just another adult trying to telling us what to do. But, when we see people that our age that have actually died from driving while distracted, then it really showed us that it does happen and it's not that uncommon," Ellise Truong, L.D.H.S.S. Grade, 11 student.
Drop It And Drive is a BC-based grass roots organization providing no-fee high school presentations and corporate risk management workshops across Canada.
The Drop It And Drive high school education program raises awareness about the dangers of distracted driving with powerful, reality-based presentations that offer real-life solutions to avoid preventable crashes. We talk with teens about the dangers of distracted driving because they have the greatest opportunity to be the solution...the choice is theirs. Our corporate risk management program reaches the established driver...typically the ones setting the example for youth.
Drinking and driving took a full generation--25 years--to become socially unacceptable; too many more lives will be lost if it takes that long for distracted driving to become taboo.
