Hi I´m Melissa from Yoga with Dr. Melissa West, I offer real yoga for real people, we are all about connection, connection to a teacher and teachings that allow you to connect with your True Nature and a community of people that are dedicated to a genuine path of spiritual transformation. We put out a brand new 1 hour yoga video every Friday at 9 am PT so if you are new here be sure to subscribe and press that bell so you do not miss a single class.
If you are brand new to yoga and get frustrated with other yoga classes on YouTube that move too quickly, don´t give modifications and are too hard to follow, don´t worry, our beginner yoga classes are actually for beginners, people who have never done yoga before. We have a 31 day beginner yoga challenge that you can sign up for at melissawest.com and have it delivered right to your inbox or you can check out the beginner playlists here on my YouTube channel. We offer slow, easy to follow, step by step instructions with lots of modifications.
Maybe you are experiencing pain, your body is feeling stiff, tense, or inflexible. Yoga can ease the most stubborn and unyielding bodies and help them to become more flexible.
Our lives are constantly distracted, our personal devices disturb us with their endless notifications and our continuous scrolling to find something that will light up our brains is agitating. Our nervous systems are overloaded with the endless noise, confusion and disconnection of living in our current culture. We lack the internal ease that we so crave because we are caught up in the stories of our past and worrying about the future.
Yoga allows us to come out of the endless chatter of our monkey minds and into the present moment of our embodied experience. Through yoga we learn to listen to, trust and follow the wisdom of our bodies. Here at Yoga with Melissa we have several series of Yoga that help us to come back into our bodies and the present moment including: Transforming Your Inner Critic, Focused Living, our Mindfulness Series called Keepin’ it Real Yogi Style, the Heart Stabilization Series, Listening with Our Whole Bodies, Moving at the Speed of our Bodies, and our Cultural Conditioning Series. One of our most popular series, Yoga for Emotions was so popular that we are currently doing another version Yoga for Emotional Healing as a way to open to those difficult emotions and be in the present moment with them, without turning away from them.
I know we are all exhausted, overextended and generally worn out from being pulled in every direction with work, family and life commitments. We lack energy. Our yoga practice shouldn´t further deplete us. The style of hatha yoga that I teach focuses on nourishing our energy rather than leaving you more depleted than when you started. We have a 20 class series called Nourishing Your Energy Reserves and Restorative Yoga Classes, but all of our yoga classes here on Yoga with Melissa will honour and strengthen your energy balance. When you practice yoga with me, you will have energy to get through your day and you will be able to sleep better at night.
There are so many benefits to practicing yoga in your daily life, as you will learn when you practice our Benefits of Yoga Series. It can help to keep depression at bay, it can help you as you age to keep those arthritic joints moving, it will ease your anxiety and help you to maintain your health. There are more than 400 videos for you to choose from here, however if you want our value added content with the support of an amazing community of yogis from all around the world and more high touch, one on one interaction with me, I highly recommend our membership community.
Leave your comments, we respond and I look forward to seeing you on the yoga mat everyday.
