Join the Down for the Count Swing Orchestra at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Saturday 14th September 2019 for the release of our new album and the start of our UK tour!
Down for the Count are a mini big band who bring the sounds of The Swing Era back to life. Formed by a group of friends at Aylesbury Music Centre, Bucks, in 2005, they have gone on to become one of the UK's busiest swing bands with sell-out performances at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, The London Jazz Festival, Southbank Centre, Caveau de la Huchette (Paris), Pizza Express Jazz Club and many more.
Their new album "Swing That Music" celebrates the music of the big bands of the 1930s and 1940s, featuring tunes made famous by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and many more.
To celebrate the launch of the new album, the band are heading to Aylesbury Waterside Theatre for a spectacular night of dancing and live music alongside SwingDance MK - who will take a beginner's dance lesson at the start of the evening and also perform a routine to the band's live music.
There are two types of ticket available:
"Standing tickets" are perfect for those wanting to dance. The stalls will be removed, turning the space into a fantastic dancefloor with a flat wooden floor. There will be some unreserved seating available in the auditorium if you want to take a break from dancing.
"Band A/Band B tickets" are seated tickets in Circle 1 and 2 - for those of you who want to just sit back and enjoy the show.
7pm - Auditorium doors open
7.30pm - (optional) dance lesson with SwingDance MK
8pm - Down for the Count perform (two sets)
10pm - Event finishes
The auditorium bar will be open all night - and of course you'll be able to buy your copy of our new album in the interval and after the show!
