Join us as we build a movement!

October 11, 2012 marks the first International Day of the Girl Child.

The Day of the Girl is an opportunity for everyone to talk, debate and advocate to open all doors for every girl worldwide.

The Day of the Girl explores global issues such as gender stereotypes, discrimination, sex trafficking, child marriage, lack of education, abuse, rape and other gender-based violence.

This Day aims to confront these injustices that face girls everyday and around the world.

The Day of the Girl encourages nations to invest in girls and achieve universal human rights for girls — the underrepresented half of the population.

All people should have the right to live up to their full potential—girls and boys alike.
