(I May upload a better quality video if I can later on.)
This video is dedicated to my Dad, his 2 brothers, and their father (My Grandfather).
In an old VHS tape from 1984, they played and sang and joked in the basement of a church, in a small Irish community in Wisconsin.
I made this video for this one song that Mike sang, and I may do some other videos sometime of some of the other songs that they sang for the crowd.
This song they called William McBride. Like other folk and/or drinking songs, I am pretty sure some words were changed over the different versions.
Working with my ancient art programs, I wrought these animations in sweat and fire, working on them for nearly 6 months on the computer images. Over 1760 frames in this video. And it is 5 minutes 8 seconds long.
I hope you enjoy this. Today (nov 10th) is not only my Grandpa's birthday, it is also the 1 year anniversary of my Dad's passing, but you won't hear them in this song.
I chose this song because it is the first that hit me with real inspiration and a consistent vision. Please keep in mind also, that I have no training in art or animation. I'm trying to teach myself by trial and error. Some sequences worked well, others, well, I'll get the hang of this someday. ~_^ All these sequences were either sketched and scanned by me, or done from scratch with mouse and pixel art.
Programs used. Paint Shop Pro 6, Animation Shop and Windows Movie Maker for Windows XP.
I hope you all enjoy it!
