On September 28, 2014, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II honored Coptic Orphans by appearing in person at our 25th Anniversary Gala in Canada to receive the Leading by Example Award.

These are His Holiness' remarks at the gala. We hope they inspire new generations of leaders all over the world to strengthen and expand the work being done for the love of the children of Egypt.

The Coptic Orphans Leading by Example Award honors pioneers whose character and achievements make them role models in Egypt and around the world.

The Board of Directors of Coptic Orphans is proud to present the Leading by Example Award to those individuals who have truly embodied values treasured by Coptic Orphans, including a spirit of volunteerism, a love of children and education, a commitment to giving back to the community, and a deep and enduring devotion to an Egypt of tolerance, prosperity, and peace for all people.

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II was Coptic Orphans' clear choice to receive the Leading by Example Award because of his noble and constant efforts to realize his vision of an Egypt of tolerance and prosperity, where Christians and Muslims live alongside one another in peace.

Two more Gala celebrations for Coptic Orphans’ 25th Anniversary are now just days away! We look forward to seeing many of you at the United States (Oct. 11) and Australia (Nov. 9).

Coptic Orphans supporters are the reason we have been able to reach this milestone of 25 years and 30,000 children empowered. Without so many devoted prayers, so much faithful volunteering, and such generous support, thousands of children in Egypt would lead much harder lives and be less prepared to break the cycle of poverty.
