Bakari Holmes, Cogswell College student
I love games and I just finished an internship at Sony Playstation this past summer. (I was) working on 'Kill Strain' this game here, and it's not released yet it's been announced but it's not released.
I also worked on 'Guns Up', 'Drawn to Death' and an unannounced title. Now, I've just been hired as a Developer Support Engineer in Sony San Mateo headquarters right here so I start soon, probably within the next couple weeks.
Having project experience kind of gave me a leg up to be able to adjust quicker to that team. You get out what you put in so these project based classes like Project X, Mediaworks, Gamestudio... really get involved in them and really make sure you have something to show at the end.
I have a portfolio that showcases a lot of the word that I've done. A lot of the people skills and passion that I have was really huge and stood out the team.
Being able to answer questions about my previous experience about my time at Cogswell, about what I did on the team and being able to be specific. Give specific examples and show how that connects to how I would be a successful candidate those things really stood out.
