Rockford High School in Michigan has won 43 state titles, with 35 coming in the last 13 years. It's the perfect example of an athletics program in its prime, achieving greatness inside and outside of the competitive arena.
This summer Coach and Athletic Director visited Rockford, 15 miles north of Grand Rapids, Mich. Through more than a dozen interviews and two days of observations by our staff, we discovered there was no single secret to the school's incredible winning streak. It's the culmination of many different parts, all working toward the same goal in creating the best atmosphere for educational athletics.
Coach and Athletic Director's entire September 2013 issue highlights some of the most accomplished sports at Rockford High School, providing a glimpse into the coaches and what has helped them become so successful. This project is meant to give coaches and athletic directors insight on how one program has raised the bar and created a positive environment for its student-athletes.
