Cannons Fighting Cancer is an initiative to unite the lacrosse, medical and research communities to raise funds and awareness for philanthropic and research organizations that are focused on finding a cure for cancer and providing services, support and care for individuals and families who are impacted by the disease. This event includes a ceremony for a special group of nominated fans who are making an impact in the fight against cancer dubbed the "Cannons Champions for Cancer," a presentation for the Bruce Lerch Scholarship, a season-long fundraising initiative and on-field recognition for the "Cannons Champions." The Boston Cannons will host this year's Cannons Fighting Cancer game during the August 4th match up against the reigning MLL Champions, the Ohio Machine. This game will benefit the Boston Children's Hospital's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.
When the best in sports join the best in pediatric medicine, the possibilities are endless.
This all-star fundraiser features Boston’s business leaders and sports teams—the Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and New England Revolution. Thanks to their support and our generous sponsors, we have raised more than $38 million since 1997 benefiting the hospital’s areas of greatest need and making a life-changing impact on the lives of the countless children and families we serve.
The things that make Boston Children's special -- caring for the whole family, not just the patient; fueling research that impacts care worldwide -- aren't fully covered by insurance and grants. It's why fundraising for the walk is so important. Join us!
