Here's a little 3/4 piece in DADF#AD tuning which is a pretty good example of the two hand tapping technique I play with sometimes. I initially learnt this stuff listening to Eddie Van Helen who was using it more as a single string shredding thing (check out his song 'Eruption' if you get the chance) but my favourite players that work on acoustics with it are Carlos Vamos and Justin King.
I play it mostly in open tunings as a simple way to keep separate melodies and harmonic passages working at the same time, without having to make impossible left hand stretches and while keeping some open strings ringing out underneath all the while. It's mostly legato work, so you've got to try and hammer on and pull off with as much force as possible to keep the sustain going.
I'm trying to name this piece...what do you think it should be called?
