Artist Self Portrait Watercolor #MeetTheArtist Tag ~ Marshall Couture of Donkey Jaw Projects (speed drawing)
I've been very inspired as of late of all the artists on youtube and instagram doing the Meet The Artist Tag and I figured why not join the fun! It's a little weird because this is the second self portrait type of art i've posted in a couple weeks and I so rarely actually do self portraits. That being said I'm starting to dig this cartoony version of myself so who know's maybe I will someday venture into the realm of some autobiographical work. Could be fun right? Let me know what you think!
Anyways hopefully you dug this Meet the Artist 2017 sort of thing including the extra info with the likes and dislikes and stuff in my studio and all that. Some of you may have noticed my misspelling of Politics in the Dislike section lol Pretty embarrassing but hopefully my little correction was fun enough for people not to think I'm a total idiot. Yikes!
My name is Marshall Lee and I Make Comics! Here are some tutorials on How To Make Your Own Comic Books!
Wether your a brand new Comic Creator or a Comic Book Professional I think you can find some cool tips in this series!
There is so much involved in Making Comics so this playlist will be something I add to on a very regular basis as I go on my journey make my own creator owned comic books as well.
I'm just sharing what I'm learning about the craft of drawing comics, writing comics, inking comics, creating digital comics, comic book storytelling and beyond. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions as you embark on making your comics anytime!
Come with me on a journey to work as hard as we can to see this comic book dream through! In the Working Artist Vlog I will share my process and any tips that I can to help you do the same. 😎 let's make it happen!!!
The Early Bird Art Cast is a Livestream show I do at once or twice a week where I tend to have loose chats usually surrounding an art related topic as I often interact with my audience (friends) in the chat and even have them on to join in the discussion on a pretty regular basis!
I've made this playlist to start at the most popular episodes as opposed to sequential order so that you don't have to sift through the many episodes to get to the good ones!
These episodes can get lengthy but I've heard people enjoy them because they can sit and draw or do other things while getting a good dose of art talk simultaneously. Enjoy!
And if you have a suggestion for a topic you'd like me to cover please feel free to leave a comment on one of the videos and I'll do my best to try and discuss it!
From time to time I do videos that are more on the tutorial side of things to help my fellow artists make level up in there skills with art, marketing etc. These are not so much rules to live by but just things I have learned on my path that I believe others might benefit with as well.
This is the 1 Hour Comic Challenge created by yours truly. This is a challenged I developed using a foldy comic/zine (which I did not invent) which is created with one page of 8.5 x 11 or A4 computer paper which folded correctly creates a fun little 8 page comic!
1. Everything must be created within the space of 1 hour. (Idea, Script, Pencils, Inks) 2. Feel free to skip any steps as long as you come out with a finished Inked comic that can be copied and printed before the hour is up. 3. Don't feel bad if you don't make it (I didn't make it on my first try but I did finish a fun comic quicker than I would have otherwise!) 4. (Optional) Share how you did somewhere online via video, blog, social media post or however you like. 5. Let me know so I can share it as well and if you make a YouTube video I will be happy to add you to the official 1 Hour Comic Challenge playlist!
Have fun! and Good Luck! (trust me its a REAL challenge!)
I'm often just as inspired by Music and Musicians as much as by visual artists so I often draw my favorite musicians sometimes accompanied by there own tracks and sometimes with a little discussion on what it is that inspires me about them. Here are some of my youtube videos highlighting those musical inspirations!
