"Both my father and mother's experiences with education have had a significant impact on my development as an individual. My father barely had an education, as he dropped out of school in tenth grade and never went back. Thinking of him and how he forwent such an opportunity for growth motivates e to reevaluate my own relationship with education, making me realize hoe much I value learning and gaining knowledge. My mother, on the other hand, had a different history with the education system. When she was younger, my mother was pursuing a college education at Los Angeles Trade Technical College when she was attacked on campus while walking to class. This traumatic experience led to her dropping out of college. It took years, but she did overcome the trauma and id go back to finish college. After first attending Los Angeles Valley College, she then transferred to California State University, Northridge, where she graduated with a degree in sociology in 2012. My mother is an inspiration for me. Her perseverance and determination pushes me to always try my best in everything and to never give up in the quest for knowledge, regardless of the obstacles."
