Some of the students are the first in their families to get a college education. Others set out on a path laid out during late-night discussions with their parents or through the determination of loved ones who believed that education would open doors to a world of possibilities.
The cheers may be deafening later this week as more than 11,000 students are expected to graduate from CSUN. Each student has a personal story of hard work, perseverance and success. Below are examples of just some of these unique stories.
The California State University, Northridge Department of Cinema and Television Arts invites you to the 26th Annual / 2016 Senior Film Showcase. The event will take place Thursday, May 5th at 7:30PM in the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Academy Award Headquarters) located at 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211. The showcase is free and open to the public with tickets available on the April 25th. Maximum seating is 700. Parking is free in parking structures located close by at 8920 Wilshire Blvd. at La Peer St. or 9025 Wilshire Blvd. at Wetherly St. There is also free meter parking all along Wilshire Blvd. starting at 7pm.
