The energy and excitement of the CFA Institute Research Challenge is captured best by the students, mentors, judges, employers and sponsors who participate in this impressive global competition.
Hosted by CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, the competition is designed to promote ethics and best practices in equity research through hands-on mentoring and training in company analysis and presentation skills. In the first six years of this annual competition, 10,000 students from over 650 universities around the world participated.
In front of a live audience, student teams present an in-depth analysis of a publicly traded company to a panel of investment industry experts after spending months preparing and honing their reports with their mentors and advisors—sometimes students even meet personally with the company leaders of the firms they analyze.
Teams compete at three different levels: winners from each local-level competition advance to the regional level to compete against teams in their geographic region. The challenge culminates in a Global Final that includes the top four teams from around the world. High profile panels of financial professionals from the world's top firms evaluate the students' written reports and oral presentations.
For students, it is an extraordinary résumé builder and a chance to interact with industry leaders as well as network with a global community of their peers.
Investment professionals volunteer as judges, graders, and mentors, working towards the ultimate good of society by promoting best practices and ethical decision-making.
Corporations have an opportunity to promote ethics and education in their own communities as well as receive unbiased research and opinions from students.
Sponsors align themselves with the mission and values of CFA Institute and have the opportunity to reach a global student audience.
To truly appreciate this thrilling series of events, we invite you to join the world's most prestigious investment research competition: the CFA Institute Research Challenge.
