IT for Change's field unit 'Prakriye - Center for Community Informatics and Development (CCID)' in Mysuru, India collaborates with dalit women's groups to help them run their Mahiti Kendras (Information Centres). The Centres use Internet and mobile technologies to expand women’s access to public information and government schemes; and amplify their voice in local governance. Along the way, they also equip women to fight their own battles with fathers and husbands who may not be able to come to terms with their empowerment.
