This is part one of many (I Hope). My goal is to provide proof that there is no God exists, at least one that works for me. I do not claim my proof is formal or absolute, but rather more persuasive and cumulative type. When all the parts are taken together they have the weight of a proof, at least to me.
I tried to model my approach around similar but more widely accepted negative arguments like the Unicorn of history did not exist. You could use leprechauns or Griffins or Centaur or a thousand other mythological creatures and I think most modern peoples would agree they never existed. Even Dragons which are common across many cultures and may have been inspired by dinosaur fossils, never existed during the time of man, and most people understand that as fact. I think we accept these as fact because first we can find no evidence that they exist, but secondly and maybe more importantly the reality that envelopes these myths is accepted as fictions and does not exist within our known reality. Which is to say it is not just the lack of evidence that tells us they don't exist but the context in which one must believe to accept it.
So, most of my arguments revolve around the observation that "this is not the a reality created by an intelligent being". It flows from my understanding of science, reason, morality, and belief and a life long pursuit of looking at the world around me. As far as I can tell many of my arguments are unique but that could be just my ignorance.
Some potential titles for the other parts are as follows:
- Concept of God & the Drive to Believe
- The Relationship Between Complexity and Intelligence
- Nature vs Intelligence -- Who begot whom
- Sign of Intelligent -- what would you
- Reality and it's implication on God's Morality
These titles are mostly just notional and I will most likely do them in no particular order. I'm very slow at this so be patient. Ultimately I hope to combine them into a single document I feel adequately reflects my beliefs. Each part (including this first part) should be considered a draft and with rewrites based on the feed back I get. To this end I am looking for comments and suggestion on various parts. Thats a hint Please Ccomment!!!
NOTE: please refrain for quoting scripture or arguments from divine authority (god say it is so, so it is), for I will most likely delete them if they become too distracting.
