Officers can be paid £20-£25 for each person they snare over 28. Damian Collins, the Tory chairman of the Commons culture committee, described the Mail’s evidence as ‘damning’. He said he would demand answers from BBC chief Lord Hall. Labour MP Chris Matheson said "Going after soft easy vulnerable targets to boost the BBC's profits undermines the BBC and TV Licensing."
