In October 2017, AASA, The School Superintendents Association, and the Children's Defense Fund, co-hosted the AASA-CDF Superintendent Summit on Equity and Justice: Access, Inclusiveness and Opportunity. The two-day event took place at the CDF Haley Farm in Clinton, Tenn. This is the first of a series of videos featuring superintendents who discussed the importance of the meeting and why equity in education is so critical today. Superintendents featured in this video include: Kimberly Carter, Battle Creek (Mich.) Public Schools; Daniel Bittman, Independent (Minn.) School District 728; Thomas Tucker, Princeton City (Ohio), Schools; and Calvin Watts, Kent (Wash.) School District. For more information, visit www.aasa.org/equity.aspx.
School Administrator magazine has introduced a new feature: monthly video highlights and extras! At the beginning and in the middle of each month, we will release a 60- to 90-second video clip featuring key content and interviews with one or more of the current issue’s authors or subjects. Two videos are added each month, so keep checking back!
