In the summer, Seven Dials played host to Spotlight, an arts and culture festival.
Thousands of shoppers enjoyed an impressive line-up of theatre, dance, comedy and music performances compered by Rick Edwards, on the traffic free streets. Activities and discounts were also available from over 120 shops and restaurants who participated in the days activities.
Visitors were able to sit out in the sunshine on the pop-up lawn around the Dial, complete with deck chairs and garden games. It was a day of exciting performances, the stage near the Dial treated people to music by the hotly anticipated Wolffe, performances by Tristan Bates Theatre, dancing by Pineapple Dance and comedy from Ian Stone, to name a few. People were also able to experience amazing street food stalls, The Emergency Poet, Airstream Photobooth, in store DJ’s and artists filling the streets with culture.
People enjoyed the vast selection of independent boutiques and flagship stores in the area, like Coco De Mer, Shu Uemura, Le Coq Sportif, Peter Werth, Laura Lee and Diesel, with discounts, make-overs, drinks. In-between all of the great promotions and activities, people were able to refuel at many of the area’s top restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as street food vendors. The event was a perfect summer's day out.
