How many of you are naughty? Look at those who are not raising their hands. The sign of youth is to be naughty, to dream, to go mad for something. If you don't have that streak of madness, then that is not youth. But you should not lose your life by going mad after someone. Did you understand what I said?
Life is a celebration. When stress develops, we get sad, depressed, and then people can take unlawful benefit of us. They can incite youth to throw stones and other unlawful activities. Then we become sad. We should move ahead in life with enthusiasm.
I tell today's youth to accept this society and the world. This world belongs to you. This society belongs to you. Own the world right away.
Q: Is it important to meditate? Those who meditate, do they become successful?
Sri Sri: Yes. It is important to meditate. When you meditate your mind remains proper, the body remains healthy, and the your intellect becomes sharp, our memory also improves.
India’s meditation is done abroad in all the universities: Stanford, Harvard and we have dropped meditation. You know, now they call pulling the ears super brain yoga. When you meditate for some time everyday, the circulation in the brain improves and grey matter increases. A lot of research has been done. Stress gets eliminated at the same time, the intelligence quotient (IQ) increases.
I can not stop comparing myself with others. What should I do?
Sri Sri: Don’t compete with other. First, compete with yourself. See how well you did last year and see what best you can do this year. Compete with yourself. That is healthy competition.
Q: How can I be emotionally stable when the situations are not in my favor?
Sri Sri: When things are not in your favor, it brings up lots of talents from within you. Have patience and the confidence that things will work out well for you. Don't lose your heart. Meditate.
What is spirituality? Why is it important? Can youth also be spiritual?
Sri Sri: Yes. Spirituality is meant for everyone. We are made up of body, mind, and spirit. Body needs amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals. Similarly for the mind we need happiness, love, creativity. All this part of spirituality. Creativity, enthusiasm, respect, love, joy, happiness - all this is part of the spirit. Don’t you want any of this? And anything that makes you close to yourself is spirituality. Anything that uplifts you is spirituality. Anything that make you feel one with everybody's spirituality.
