ScholarOfBabylon

Scholar of Babylon is a Midlands-born UK artist project built from bass culture, street philosophy, dark humour and the kind of thoughts that tend to turn up after midnight.

The sound moves through UK garage, phonk, jungle, DnB, chillwave, coldwave, hip-hop and cinematic bass, but the centre stays the same: big ideas, heavy low-end, sharp writing and songs about people as they actually are. Love, class, regret, ego, survival, sex, faith, stupidity, beauty, consequence and the strange little truths hiding in ordinary life.

Scholar of Babylon is written and creatively directed by Martin Eaton. Generative AI is used as part of the audio realisation and production process, while the concepts, lyrics, composition, structure, arrangement direction, visual identity and creative decisions are human-led.

Same streets. Bigger questions. Higher ground.
