The Inktober is an art challenge where artists and illustrators, pros and beginners from all around the world participate making one daily inked drawing through the whole month of October.
His creator, Jake Parker, started this idea on 2009 when looking for a way to upgrade his inking skills and to build better art habits. Little by little, many more artists joined the challenge, making this an international movement.
Even as this activity started as a way for practicing traditional art skills on paper, you can work digitally. The important thing is that you grow as an artist.

oining the Inktober is very simple. You just need to do an inked drawing for every day of October and upload it to your social media accounts with the #inktober and #inktober2018 hashtags on them. You don’t have to share your drawings if you don’t feel good about it, but I truly recommend you to do it. The idea is to create a community with other fellow artists, have fun and learn all together.
There is an official prompt list with themes for each day to help you out with your Inktober process. You don’t need to adhere to the list, as the Inktober is a free challenge. You can draw what ever you want like characters, typography, sceneries or something abstract. You can also pencil the sketches on advance so you don’t get stressed for finishing every day. You don’t hace to make a very polished piece. What is important is to grow your confidence as an artist, knowing that you been drawing every day and having fun over the process.
