CW: discussions of my accountability process; this status is public.
Wanted to alert people about my accountability process, the accountability blog:http://TinyUrl.com/reidprocess
share some of my fears, that folks that I will be coming back into teaching soon, and express my gratitude for the pods and everyone who contributed in-front and behind the scenes to this process.
Please check out the accountability blog. My apologies if I can't reply/comment back to everyone.
Feel free to share this around, and please - as Heather Elizabeth wrote in one of their recent posts, "be mindful around tagging folks who haven't already been tagged, this can bring up a lot for people in a week that has already been A Lot, during a season that is A LOT and ideally, I think it's best to give folks choice in what the interact with."
And thank you, everyone, for your support and the support you've given to the pods and others. As Maya Angelou said, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better."
ETA: Something I missed articulating in my video, so I'll do it here: Restorative and transformational justice. RJ/TJ, are not new concepts, just new or new to being put into practice for many in my community. RJ/TJ approaches have been in practice, especially in Indigenous and queer communities, for quite some time. The blog and the survivor support pod's blog point to resources.
